 Northeast Michigan...Yours to Discover!

Whether you're visiting the area for a family celebration or a business event, you'll find that

the Tawas area (and all of northeast Michigan) provide unlimited opportunities for "decompressing".

Boating, sailing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and tubing are available on

Lake Huron, the  AuSable River or a number of other inland lakes.

The outdoor enthusiast will enjoy a wide array of options including golfing,

hiking, biking, fishing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, hunting.

What's your pleasure?  It's all here, just outside our door!

Tour historic lighthouses, museums, cheese factories and wineries.

The Tawas area is home to many art galleries and shops, libraries, community centers, and an exotic zoo. Enjoy a multitude of local festivals and events showcasing this beautiful area.  If music moves you, you'll find a variety of musical events taking place any time of year, including the popular Corsair Concert Series.  Enjoy one of the many outstanding plays The Tawas Bay Players produce each year at their historic playhouse.  Learn first-hand how maple syrup runs from the tree to the bottle or take a ride on the historic AuSable Riverboat Queen.

Looking for something different? Kite boarding is the newest "wave" in

northeast Michigan and two local kite-boarding companies (Great Lakes

Kiteboarding and Tawas Board Riders) offer classes and demonstrations.

If that's a little too much adventure, just go fly a kite!  Kiteman Jack's,

a funky little kite shop right on the beach, sells kites and other "flyables"

and always has kites in flight over Tawas Bay.  "Human Powered Vehicles" (HPV's)

are also available for you to explore the community your way!

There are many parks in the area featuring beautiful sugar sand beaches,

baseball diamonds, tennis courts, volley ball courts, children's play areas and pavilions.

A recently extended bike path follows the Lake Huron shoreline along US 23

and on to Tawas Point. Once you've traveled our bike path, biking,

roller-blading, jogging or walking will never be the same!

Shopping opportunities are yours to discover, as well.  Indulge your sweet tooth with handmade chocolates from Village Chocolatier. Browse a wide variety of jewelry, bags, shoes and all things "girlie girl" at Fusion Jewelry & Fashion Boutique. Old treasures are waiting for new homes inside the historic Liberty Building where you'll find antique shops (Uncle Winnies, Back Room Antiques and Hen and the Holly) and another shop right across the street. A Different Blend Coffee House features a gourmet coffee and food menu as well as a cozy place to plug in your laptop. You'll want to make sure you check out all the funky shops in the area featuring unique kitchen and bath items, gourmet foods, Michigan wines and one-of-a-kind gifts for the home. You're sure to enjoy browsing these shops in our quaint resort community.

We could go on (and on) but you get the idea!  If you've never visited or if it's been too long

since you came to see us, put the Tawas area on your itinerary.  It's Michigan's best kept secret!
