A & M Event Specialists Kate Anschuetz and Dave Millard

bring years of event planning and destination management experience to northeast Michigan.

A native of the Tawas area, Kate served as Program Director of the Tawas Chamber of Commerce

where she coordinated a variety of member events, festivals and destination management services.

She is a co-founder of the wildly successful “Blues by the Bay in the Tawases” and served

as festival director of that event for 5 years. Kate brings meeting planning experience to A & M through her

work with Michigan’s Office of Training and Staff Development. She has also worked as a training consultant with

Deloitte Consulting LLC.  Rounding out her experience, she has organized many fabulous weddings,

birthday and bridal parties, private dinner parties, baby showers, road rallies and numerous other special events.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Dave Millard is a native of Hale.

Among many achievements during his 20 year military career, Dave was handpicked to coordinate a

worldwide conference for Family Support Center Directors which served as the benchmark for future

conferences within the USAF. In addition, Dave coordinated relocation fairs for military personnel

stationed at installations scheduled for closing. More recently, Dave was General Manager of the

Days Inn Hotel in Tawas City for six years where he garnered numerous awards for the hotel property

through his standards of excellence. He was also nominated by the franchise as General Manager of the Year

and recognized at the national convention as one of the top five general manager’s in the nation.

Dave knows his way around a kitchen (and a grill!) and has catered many private and business functions

serving original recipes and other mouth-watering fare. He is an ardent wine enthusiast as well.

In 2006, Kate and Dave co-produced “Jammin’ With the Salmon”, a successful outdoor music festival

that featured a variety of musical genres, food and merchandise.

Recognizing a major gap in northeast Michigan’s event planning and destination management services industry,

Kate and Dave partnered in 2007 to establish A & M Event Specialists.

Their goal is to exceed client expectations.
